Nob Hill Architecture Walk

12th Annual Architecture Walk presented with rediscovernobhill.com. Join us as we explore how Albuquerque grew onto the east mesa above the sand hills starting in 1916.  Thanks to caring stewards Nob Hill continues to portray the architectural character of its period of development. We are the stewards of one of the best preserved early 20th Century automobile-oriented suburbs in the world.

Join us at 1 pm in the front parking area of the 1947 Nob Hill Shopping Center. We’ll begin with a look at the 1916 University Heights developed by the iconic Col. D.K.B. Sellers. We’ll then move to the 1925 Granada Heights, developed just prior to the Depression. Granada Heights was promoted as a “high class area” featuring many double lots and houses with high end features in vogue before the financial crash. Granada Heights also features several classic mid-century designs developed late in its history.

Learn to read historic houses and how to research your own house. Learn how to maintain or remodel to preserve historic character and maintain Nob Hill’s distinctive historic sense of place. This walk is ideal for new residents and folks who want to dive into what makes our neighborhood so wonderful.
